Reason for reduction - 1 x A little bit short and slightly off round rim, 1 x Small crack at handle join (these occur during glaze firing and fill with molten glaze)
As we know, well behaved women seldom make history. This big, cosy mug is thrown on the potters wheel from white stoneware clay. Before the clay is fully dry, I apply a chintzy, floral-patterned underglaze transfer on the outside surface and handle, then use a stencil to add the text “Well Behaved Women Seldom Make History” in red underglaze. Finished with transparent glaze. You can see a video of the decorating process here.
Every item is entirely handmade by Emma and there will be some variations in size, shape, pattern repeat and finish. Photos are illustrative of the handmade item you will receive. Items sold individually.
9.5-10cm tall, 9.5-10cm wide at base, 400ml-ish capacity (measurements are approximate). Gentle hand-washing recommended, can be used in dishwasher and microwave. Click here for more information on care of your item.
Right handed means if you hold the mug in your right hand the design faces away from your body - left handed means if you hold in your left hand the design faces away.
